Ocean of suffering may be crossed only by association with pure devotee, prema-bhakta. Evan a part of second in such saintly association may change doomed destiny of conditioned soul and awaken its dormant attraction for Lord Gauranga Krsna. That is confirmed in Caitanya Caritamrta:
sadhu-sanga sadhu-sanga-sarva sastre kaya lava matra sadhu sanga sarva siddhi haya
The verdict of all revealed scriptures is that by even a moment's association with a pure devotee, one can attain all success. (Cc, Madhya-lila: 22.54)
In ancient times for common persons it was very hard to practically associate with saint persons and hear from them. Nowadays, we are so fortunate that simply by click of mouse we may have association with Swami Gaurangapada, watch Jagganatha-Ratha-yatra, listen to lectures and read writings of previous acharyas compiled in Nitaai Veda.
On that way this portal http://nitaai.net is bringing pure essence of bhakti into everyones home. It is the big drum of sankirtana and Lord Nityanandachandra is joyfully dancing by seeing that naam-hatta, divine market is now widely distributing pure nectar of Holy Names.
Yes, that is true. The Yoga or connection with Nitaai (NITAAI Yoga), will establish our connection to all the five pure loving mellows in Lord Krishna's pastimes and Lord Gaura's pastimes and our soul's eternal relationship with the Lord will awaken very quickly and spontaneously. Sadhu sadhu, keep on writing more such nectarean articles.
The essence of Bhagavad-Gita is summarized in following verse:
man-mana bhava mad-bhakta, mad-yaji mam namaskuru mam evaisyasi satyam te pratijane priyo 'si me (Bg. 18.65)
TRANSLATION
"Always think of Me, become My devotee, worship Me and offer your homage unto Me. Thus you will come to Me without fail. I promise you this because you are My very dear friend."
This process of chanting Nityananda, Gauranga and Hare Krsna Maha Mantra, known as Nitaai Yoga is manifestation and sweatiest fruit of this highest instruction, pure nectar of all vedic knowledge.
Simply by chanting These Holy Names person automatically think about Supreme Lord - man-mana - "Always think of Me." When we chant Nityananda, Nityananda - smaranam or remembrance is automatically there - " Oh, Lord Nityananda is throwing rice on Advaita Acharya...Oh, Lord Nityananda broke danda etc." That is most direct and highest process of all.
Then by fixing our mind and activities, person becomes steady devotee of Lord - bhava mad-bhakta, " become My devotee ", and naturally mad-yaji mam namaskuru - person is offering obeisances to the Lord. On that way he or she will attain Supreme Lord Gauranga Krsna and highest abode without delay - "mam evaisyasi satyam te". That is verdict of Supreme Lord Himself.
Words "priyo 'si me" are also very significant. Simply by this chanting, by remembrance of Supreme Lord, we are becoming very dear to Him. Priyah means very dear. So, all process of spiritual journey are summarized in this verse, Nitaai Naam Yoga is pure embodiment of audarya or mercifulness of Supreme Lord Gauranga Krsna, truly non-different from Him and it is highest manifestation of His unconditioned love for conditioned souls.
This is enlightening. It is indeed wonderful of Srila Prabhupada to have tackled such a difficult subject, and that too at a time when these problems were surfacing in the west. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Dear Gurudeva, in your post "Recommended Reading Sequence" you wrote "The general recommended sequence of reading or hearing the Holy Books of Lords Nityananda Gauranga for devotees by us is as follows: (01) Nityananda Gauranga Naam Mahima Mahastotra daily reading and if possible along with it the 12 and 108 Holy Names of Lord Nityananda Prabhu and additionally if possible 12, 100 and 108 Names of Lord Gauranga."
I would humble ask is it possiable for you to post transliteration of verses so that your disciples who do not know bengali and hindi may chant this verses on hindi? It is much more meditative and sweeter to chant on bengali or hindi then on english. Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krsna Your servant, Ishana Thakura das
Dear Devotees, Nityananda!! Gauranga!! Hare Krishna!! I have added two new menu items on the top floating menu. One is the Puri Gaudiya Vaishnava Calendar for the next 10 year. The second Translate menu item takes you to the Google Translation widget at the bottom of each page, so that you can instantly translate on-the-fly and read each page in any one of the 34 language supported. More languages are also being added. I hope this will prove useful.
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krsna All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All glories to Srilla Prabhupada!
Sometimes devotee (under very busy daily routine, job, duties ets. ) may feel mental and physical exhaustion. It seems that at such times it is very hard to chant properly and concentrate, chanting speed is reduced, etc. Is it offensive to chant at such state? I mean, from one hand devotee want to finish his rounds, from other hand he or she feels that it is not "fixed chanting" but more or less mechanical repetition of mantra while mind is barely listening. Is that offense, because we do not listen sound of mantra with full attention? What to do when we find ourselves in such condition?
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krsna Your servant Ishana Thakura das
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! My humble pranams! Simply brilliant post. I am far more wretched than any Jagai or Madhai, even they accept Lord Nitaai's mercy but I am so ungrateful that I reject it and seek elsewhere. It is only by Gurudeva's mercy that we have any hope of any success. Even a stray dog will reciprocate some love and gratitude if you give it some food daily and get its friendship. But I am millions of times worse than dogs on the road, being so ungrateful. All over the universe people are ready to die and become insects and worms just to get one moment's association of a pure devotee, but I have got such mercy that I am able to talk to all of you whenever I want, still I am so ungrateful that I have started taking things for granted.
As Ishana Thakur Das prabhu said, this is a mercy movement, not a qualification movement. The Lord's devotees show us mercy and even though we are all so unworthy of receiving something soooo confidential, still we nevertheless make some attempt because that is the only way we show our gratitude to them.
And what kind of mercy it is! The guru spends so many gallons of blood, time, energy and money and has to take so much difficulty just for one of us, even though there are so many better people everywhere. We can never understand the difficulties of the Lord's devotees. Atleast I tend to take it so lightly not caring for this.
And in the process I have committed unlimited offenses and sins before the guru and the devotees and tons of Vaishnava aparadha. Still I am being let off without any punishment. Now I fall before everyone's feet and beg of you to forgive me (again) without any shame, for what I have done in the past.
We can never repay the guru's mercy even in trillions of lifetimes, but the least we can do for those great souls who have revealed this path to us is to make some attempt to follow in their footsteps and follow their instructions sincerely. It is the least bit of basic gratitude that we fallen sinners can show to our guru and all the devotees. Jaya Gurudeva!
When i chant the Hare Krishna Mahamantra, i should never think that i am actually qualified to chant it. It is only the service to Lord Gauranga's instruction and consequently satisfaction of His ardent desire to chant and spread the Hare Krishna Mahamantra, that will make my chanting succesful.
When i chant Lord Gauranga's Holy Name, i should never think that i am in any way qualified to chant it. It is exclusively the service to Lord Nityananda's instruction and consequently satisfaction of His most cherished desire to chant and spread the Holy Name of Gauranga, that will make my chanting succesful.
And when i chant the most merciful Holy Name of Lord Nityananda, at that time i shall neither think that i am qualified to do it. It is only and only the service to my most merciful Gurudeva and satisfaction of His most sublime desire to chant and spread the Holy Name of Lord Nityananda far and wide, that will make my life successful...
Dependent soul on the mercy of Vaishnavas, Matus .
Thank you for your answer. I actually asked this question just for knowledge. However know for sure that time does not matter to me as Lord Nityaananda Balaram and Lord Gauraanga Krishna are going to remain my eternal Lords. I agree that when I initially came to bhakti I wanted immediate results but as I am continuing with bhakti I am becoming more and more matured in chanting. Sometimes when I am in excess distress I may feel upset but then again I get back to enthusiasm.
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! My humble pranams!
You say, "...here it says that worship of Lord Nitaai Gaura Krishna will take the highest time since they are the highest....". I humbly request you to please read that post again. Nowhere has Swamiji said that worship of Gauranga Nityananda will be the hardest and longest path.
He says, "...According to the category of deva one worships the result will come either quickly or after a long time, and the result will either be temporary or permanent....." This logic holds true only for demigod worshippers, the worshippers of Mayadevi (Shaktas), worshippers of lower deities, spirits and the like. The result that they can give is only temporary and material and none of it really gives pure devotion. Worshipping Brahma for millions of years can give one Brahma's abode, but one cannot get pure devotion by that type of demigod worship.
So ultimately the worshippers of demigods, etc are simply wasting millions of years of time and hardwork for nothing. The demigod worshippers simply waste their time while devotees attain the Lord in a very few days.
It does not imply that it is true for devotees of the Supreme Lord in anyway. On the contrary it is just the opposite. Worship of Nityananda Gauranga is the fastest of all spiritual processes. Nityananda Gauranga are far easier to attain than any demigod because they are very merciful and their causeless mercy breaks all limitations. Nowhere was there or will there be any faster process than the chanting of Nityananda Gauranga along with the Hare Krishna maha mantra. In this Kali Yuga we have got such an opportunity that even the demigods are jealous of how even animals in Kali Yuga can reach the Supreme Lord what to speak of human beings.
Ultimately what Bhaktivinode Thakur has said about Nityananda Gauranga is the last word on the matter : "Simply by chanting Nityananda Gauranga one can reach the spiritual world in a very few days." I hope this relieves your doubt. Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna!
The very fact that Lord Chaitanya initiated Tukaram is seen by the fact that the deity of Vitthala is worshipped by the four syllable Gaura Gopala Mantra - Gauranga and also the various names addressing Lord Krishna with names associating him with Radharani. As a matter of fact the deity of Vitthala is Dwaraka Krishna and it was in Dwaraka that Lord Krishna first revealed the form of Gauranga to Narada Muni.
Here are some more interesting facts :
Glories of Pandharpur
(Śrī Caitanya Caritāmṛta Madhya 9.282)
From there Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu went to Pāṇḍarapura, where He happily saw the temple of Viṭhṭhala Ṭhākura.
PURPORT
The city of Pāṇḍarapura is situated on the river Bhīmā. It is said that Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu initiated Tukārāma when He visited Pāṇḍarapura, and thus Tukārāma became His disciple. Tukārāma Ācārya became very famous in the Maharashtra province, and he spread the sańkīrtana movement all over the province. The sańkīrtana party belonging to Tukārāma is still very popular in Bombay and throughout the province of Maharashtra. Tukārāma's book is known as Abhańga. His sańkīrtana party exactly resembles the Gauḍīya-Vaiṣṇava sańkīrtana parties, for they chant the holy name of the Lord with mṛdańga and karatālas.
Madhya 9.300
Śrī Rańga Purī informed Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu that the sannyāsī named Śańkarāraṇya had attained perfection in that holy place, Pāṇḍarapura.
PURPORT
Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu's elder brother was named Viśvarūpa. He left home before Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and accepted the sannyāsa order under the name of Śańkarāraṇya Svāmī. He traveled all over the country and finally went to Pāṇḍarapura, where he passed away after attaining perfection. In other words, he entered the spiritual world after giving up his mortal body at Pāṇḍarapura. Śrī Rańga Purī, a disciple of Śrī Mādhavendra Purī and Godbrother of Īśvara Purī, disclosed this important news to Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu.
Lord Chaitanya visited numerous places in South India as far as Cape Comorin, and returned to Puri in two years by Panderpur on the Bhima. In this latter place He spiritualized Tukaram, who from that time became a religious preacher himself (This fact has been admitted in the abhangas of Tukaram which have been collected in a volume by Mr. Satyendra Nath Tagore of the Bombay Civil Service). (Bhaktivinode Thakura)
The Lord extensively traveled all over the southern part of India. The great saint of Mahārāṣṭra known as Saint Tukārāma was also initiated by the Lord. Saint Tukārāma, after initiation by the Lord, overflooded the whole of the Mahārāṣṭra Province with the sańkīrtana movement, and the transcendental flow is still rolling on in the southwestern part of the great Indian peninsula. (SB Introduction)
Lord Nityananda in Pandharpur
Travelling south, he went to Pandharpur. There, Lord Nityananda saw the deity of Lord Vitthalanath. In that town lived a gentle brahmin who was a godbrother of Madhavendra Puri. Inviting the Lord to his home, the brahmin respectfully offered fruits, roots, milk, and other foods for him to eat. Gazing at Nityananda Rama, the fortunate people of Pandharpur felt their life’s breath filled with cooling bliss. Who can understand the desires in Nityananda Prabhu’s heart? After seeing Lord Vitthalanath, Nityananda stayed in a secluded place. Coming from afar, that brahmin’s spiritual master, Sri Lakshmipati, suddenly came to that village. Seeing him, the brahmin was very excited. Lakshmipati was very old. His glorious activities were beyond description. His fame extended everywhere. He was a great saint, surrounded by followers, learned in all scriptures, who walked on the path of pure devotional service. Who can describe the fatherly love that Lakshmipati felt for his disciples? ke kahite pare lakmīpatira mahimā? yā’ra śiya mādhavendra pure — ei sīmā Who has the power to describe Lakshmipati’s glories? His disciple was Madhavendra Puri, whose glories were the greatest. (Text 2271) mādhavendra pure prema-bhakti-rasa-maya yāra nāma-smarae sakala siddhi haya Madhavendra Puri was the abode of the mellow of pure love of godhead. The remembrance of his name grants all perfection. (Text 2272) Madhavendra Puri’s disciples, headed by Sri Isvara Puri and Sri Ranga Puri, were all intoxicated with the nectar of ecstatic love. Sripad Madhavendra had many disciples in Bengal, Orissa, and other places. They were all devoted to Krishna and were absorbed in ecstatic love. Madhavendra Puri was famous in the Madhva sampradāya. He was an ocean of good qualities and very dear to his spiritual master. Lakshmipati took his meal at that brahmin disciple’s house. Eagerly he spoke of Lord Krishna. Again and again Lakshmipati said, ”I see great auspiciousness has come to your house. I have come to your home many times, but never has such bliss taken birth in my heart! I think a great devotee must be staying here.” To this, the brahmin replied. ”Your mercy is very powerful.”
By Lord Nityananda’s wish, the brahmin did not reveal Nitai’s presence in the house. The day was passed in speaking topics of Sri Krishna. That night, while sitting in his room, the glorious sannyāsī Lakshmipati sang songs glorifying Lord Balaram’s pastimes, pastimes that enchant the heart. Absorbed in ananya-bhakti, unflinching love for Balaram, Lakshmipati wept. He prayed:ohe baladeva, mu adhama durācāre kara anugrahana — yaśa ghuuka sasāre ”O Lord Balaram, I am very fallen and ill-behaved! Please be merciful to me. I will sing your glories all over the world.” (Text 2283) Speaking these words, Lakshmipati could not remain peaceful. He rolled on the ground and tears streamed from his eyes. He lamented bitterly. Overcome with powerful emotions, he was speechless and agitated. Suddenly, by Lord Nityananda’s will, he was drawn into sleep. Then, on the pretext of a dream, Nityananda Svarup happily revealed Lord Balaram’s form to Lakshmipati. How glorious was Lord Balaram! Cupid’s pride was crushed. Lord Balaram’s beautiful form rebuked a glistening silver mountain. His arms reached his knees. His chest was broad. Reaching almost to his ears, his large graceful eyes charmed the heart. A single earring on his ear charmed the hearts of the whole world. A delightful bugle-horn was tucked into the left side of the sash at his waist. His body was decorated with many ornaments. No metaphor or simile of this world could describe him. His face conquered the radiance of the full moon. On the pretext of speaking words, he created a flood of nectar. Gently, gently, he said to his dear devotee Lakshmipati, ”When I heard your lament, my heart broke. Krishna is the master of my life. Birth after birth you are his servant.” Grasping Lord Balaram’s feet, Lakshmipati said, ”I pray that in my heart I will never think you are different from Krishna.” Hearing Lakshmipati’s words, Lord Balaram smiled and said, ”Wearing the dress of an avadhūta, a brahmin’s son has come to this village. He will become your disciple. With this mantra, make him your disciple.” After speaking these words, Lord Balaram spoke a mantra into Lakshmipati’s ear. Receiving the mantra, Lakshmipati became joyful. After giving his mercy in this way, Lord Balaram disappeared.
Upon rising the following morning, Lakshmipati contemplated the wonderful dream. At that moment, Lord Nityananda Rama arrived. Seeing Nitai’s effulgence, the sannyāsī Lakshmipati thought, ”How wonderful is his effulgence! He is no mere human being.” Thinking in this way, with unblinking eyes the wise sannyāsī gazed at Lord Nityananda’s handsome face. Falling to the ground, Nityananda Prabhu offered respects at the feet of the holy man. Lakshmipati hurriedly picked him up and embraced him. Again and again, Nityananda Ray begged, ”Please give me mantra-dīkā and deliver me.” Hearing Nitai’s sweet words, Lakshmipati floated in the tears from his eyes and could not remain peaceful. Unable to jump over Lord Balaram’s command, that same day he gave mantra-dīkā to Nityananda. After giving him initiation, he embraced Nityananda Prabhu. His heart overflowed with bliss. Merciful Lord Nityananda was very dear to Lakshmipati. Nityananda Svarup had the power to do whatever he wished. What did he not have the power to do? In this way, Sri Nityananda Rama, who loves the devotees and who is the root of divine ecstasy, bestowed bliss on the Madhva-sampradāya. An ancient verse describes: nityānanda prabhu vande śrīmal lakmīpati priyam śrī mādhva sampradānanda vardhana bhakta-vatsalam I offer my respectful obeisances to Lord Nityananda, who loves the devotees, who is dear to Sri Lakshmipati, and who increases the bliss of the Madhva-sampradāya. (Text 2310) Thus becoming Lakshmipati’s disciple, Lord Nityananda was overwhelmed with astonishing happiness. Lord Nityananda departed at once. No one has the power to understand his wonderful pastimes! In Nitai’s absence, Lakshmipati became filled with sorrow. He did not speak a word to anyone. In his heart he lamented. As night was ending he was drawn into sleep. On the pretext of a dream, Nityananda Chandra appeared before him. Seeing Nityananda Prabhu, saintly Lakshmipati could not stop the tears flowing from his eyes. Suddenly Nityananda manifested the form of Lord Balaram. Seeing this, Lakshmipati immediately fell before the Lord’s glorious feet. He washed the Lord’s feet with the tears from his eyes. Again and again he said, ”Only to trick me have you descended to this world. No one has the power to know you. Even Brahma and all the devas don’t understand you. Only if you reveal yourself can someone know you. Why do you trick a fool like me, a fool worthless like a pile of ashes? O Lord, please be merciful to me. I take shelter of you.” Hearing Lakshmipati’s words, the Lord at once manifested his form of Sri Nityananda. Gazing at the sweet glory of Lord Nityananda’s form, a wonder that eclipsed a host of glistening lighting flashes, Lakshmipati became wild with ecstasy. Then Lord Nityananda Rama gave his mercy to him. Lakshmipati’s desires were now fulfilled. Forbidding him to tell any one of what had happened, and comforting him again and again, Lord Nityananda Prabhu disappeared. When the Lord was no more visible, Lakshmipati became filled with sorrow. His sleep fled far away and he saw that the night had ended. To whom could he tell anything of this? He could not be peaceful.
From that day his life was filled with wonders. Seeing his condition, his disciples became worried. Leaving the world behind, Lakshmipati suddenly left the field of their vision. Who knows how to describe Lakshmipati’s glorious character and activities? In the world he is famous as a devotee especially dear to Nityananda Prabhu. No one can describe the great devotion of the people in Pandharpur. By Lord Nityananda’s mercy, even today the inhabitants of that village feel very strong devotion to the Lord.
From a lecture by Lokanatha Swami : ...the so-called followers of Sant Tukaram, are claiming that Tukaram was initiated by the impersonalists. Maharaj wants to rectify their mistakes by revealing how Tukaram Maharaj has personally described how Caitanya Baba (Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu) initiated him in a dream. In his songs Tukaram claims that Panduranga is his guru; so how is it to be understood that Lord Caitanya initiated? These two statements are reconciled when we understand that Lord Caitanya is Panduranga Himself.
Yes, one can fast from grain-food on Dvadashi and break the fast on Trayodashi in the case that one has genuinely forgotten to observe the Ekadashi fast according to Shrila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Prabhupada. This fast may not be fully equal to the original fast on Ekadashi, as the holy tithi of Ekadashi cannot be replaced by anything else but at least one can minimize the negative results and sins of eating grain food on Ekadashi by doing so.
Gurudev wrote : According to the category of deva one worships the result will come either quickly or after a long time, and the result will either be temporary or permanent. If you aim at a low entity, for example a ghost, the result will be quick, but it will be of minimal value. Whereas if your upasana is to a higher divinity, the result will be much more permanent and significant, but will take much more time to accomplish.
Dear Gurudev here it says that worship of Lord Nitaai Gaura Krishna will take the highest time since they are the highest. However I thought that Lord Nitaai though highest is still very easily pleased, may be even faster than the demigods as He is always waiting for an opportunity to give Prema Bhakti. After reading the above statement I feel that I might have been wrong in my understanding. I request you to kindly guide me with the same.
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krsna All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All glories to Srilla Prabhupada!
If devotee by mistake broke Ekadashi fast could she or he fast on Dvadashi and break his fast on Trayodasi? Will such fast be equal as fasting on Ekadashi?
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krsna
Thank you so much, Your servant, Ishana Thakura das
The deity of Panduranga Vitthala in Pandharpur is worshipped with Gauranga's Name and Mantra
Dear devotees,
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! My humble pranams!
I am so excited to announce a remarkable discovery that has never been published before...behold!
From Jaiva Dharma ..... babaji: gauranga-nama mantre gaurapuja karileo yaha haya, krsna- nama-mantre krsna-puja karileo tahai haya. krsna-mantre gaurapuja va gaura-mantre krsnapuja-sakalai eka. ihate je bheda- buddhi kare, se nitanta anabhijna ou kalira dasa.
Babaji: As one worships Lord Krsna by chanting the name and mantra of Lord Krsna, so one should worship Lord Gaura by chanting the name and mantra of Gauranga. One may worship Lord Gaura by chanting Krsna-mantras, or for that matter one may worship Lord Krsna by chanting Gaura-mantras. They are all the same. Anyone who thinks Lord Krsna and Lord Gaura are different is a fool. He is a servant of Kali-yuga.
This is a Practical fact that is actually being done both ways in no place less than .... Pandharpur! Bhaktivinoda Thakur's writings are extremely deep and much of the actual purport cannot actually be understood by our faculties. It has to be seen to be understood.
I know this because my uncle is a devotee and worships the Vitthala Deity at his home everyday. He was the one who revealed this information. The deity of Panduranga Vitthala in Pandharpur (...which by the way is very dear to Lord Nityananda... ) is worshipped with these 108 names. All devotees of Lord Panduranga Vittala worship his deity with his set of 108 names. These names contain all elements from the Gaudiya Vaishnava sampradaya, including Radha-Krishna and Gauranga Tattva.
Sri Panduranga Astottara Shata Naamavali
Composed by Mahipati Maharaja, a very respected devotee in the Tukarama Sampradaya and disciple of Tukarama Maharaja.
Please observe names 95, 96, 97, 104, and 105. #96 is the Gaura Gopala Mantra Himself!!!! No need to explain further, you please see it with your own eyes!

I am posting this quite famous among russian devotees video... Its a nice song of a karmi about a Hare Krishna neighbour. I will try to post translation of song later Today evening hopefully!
Have a very beautiful day everyone! Let Lord Gauranga dance in your hearts always!
Dear Guest, Nityananda!! Gauranga!! Hare Krishna!! Thank you for your post. I agree the siddhis or mystical powers are also given by Lord Gaura Krishna and they are for a purpose and purification. In fact, there are a test for us to show the Lord that we don't want anything less than pure love for Him. As it is said, there is no gain without sacrifice. Thus, unless we move beyond them, we cannot show the Lord that we deserve the highest thing. If we allow ourselves to be entertained by the subtly material powers we attain due to these siddhis, the Lord escapes from His main responsibility to give us His pure eternal love as described in the verse below.
Shri Chaitanya Charitamrita Adi Lila 8.18:
krsna yadi chute bhakte bhukti mukti diya kabhu prema-bhakti na dena rakhena lukaiya
"If a devotee wants material sense gratification, mystic powers or liberation from the Lord, Lord Krishna immediately delivers it because by doing so He can escape without giving Prema Bhakti or pure devotional service, which He desires to keep very hidden (because He Himself has to personally serve His pure devotees) and never wants to give it so easily."
Once attained, pure love always remains with the soul eternally but siddhis are attained due to our pious credits accumulated over many thousands of past births and are only remain with us for one specific life. They may bring us great material power, name, fame and following in this one life, but in our next lives, we have to start all over again, if we desire to attain siddhis again. The residents of the siddha loka cannot stay there permanently and have to come down when their quota of pious deeds has been used up.
That said, it is described in the pastimes of the Acharyas, that they sometimes used siddhis or miracles (which are always at their disposal) to create faith in the most faithless people for the Holy Names and the Lord. The most popular trend in India is "chamatkar ko namaskar". Even the atheistic class of non-believers will immediately offer their obeisances and very faithfully take up the spiritual process of chanting etc. if they see some external miracles, without even asking any questions about the philosophy, soul, God etc. Because these class of people do not have enough spiritual pious credits (sukriti) from their previous lives to directly accept Naama Bhakti Yoga and sadhu sanga, the Acharyas have sometimes used the miracles on this material plane, to awaken their faith for the purely spiritual plane.
A sincere practicioner of spiritual life (internal practice) may find siddhis awaken 'spontaneously'. Rather than just criticizing the awakening of siddhis, wouldn't it be wiser to talk about the experience of the specific siddhi itself (that one is experiencing).
I consider it this way: God is so kind he wishes to give his children manifold blessings, even siddhis. He also wishes to bring his children into' maturity'. Maturity involves responsibility... God grants free will for this very purpose.
As spirit/souls we take this journey of self-discovery in consciousness, God consciousness (Krsna consciousness). Atma. When the siddhis arise we enter a new plane of existence. Initially the realm of siddhis (siddha loka) can be captivating. It can also be very difficult for some. Some remain there...that is simply the admonition of the masters of devotion...Don't remain there! Love has much more to offer. Goloka is the land of simplicity and beauty...ofcourse we must pass through Gokula first (where the master of mystic potency resides).
Some souls may be experiencing the realm of siddhis by God's grace and kindness. To mature them into being responsible servants. Maturing them to 'deep love'. Postive and progressive immortality you might say...
As people we could talk for eternity about a subject matter we have never experienced. For example: Canada is full of trees, mountains and snow. The people are nice etc etc........But unless we have been there, this is only words. If we have been there, the wise person applies good intelligence, and can then make comparison with other parts of the world, nations, geography and peoples. A whole vision. A bigger picture of diversity.
Siddhis may hold purpose, but, if only to inflate one's ego and sensory gratification then little lasting fruit....missing the purpose of God's wisdom in creation. Whereas simplicity and devotion is unlimited in scope (from a totally different angle of vision - LOVE).
Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Dandavats and obeissances.
Dear prabhus, I agee with your viewpoint and what you said is certainly true. Sadly though I am not a pure bhakta as of this moment, and I tried very hard to give up all my material desires, but I found that I was too weak living in this passionate society. It is very good to strive for pure devotional service and give up all material desires but for me I do still have flickering material desires. I"ll achieve success eventually though I believe.
Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Jagannatha Gauranga dasa
