Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! My humble obeisances!
I am beginning to see the power of my thoughts. The nature of those thoughts decides how sincerely I perform anything. If they are really positive, I have been able to work with more sincerity than I thought I was capable of. Unfortunately this can also prove to be my undoing if my faith is broken and I fall down to negative thoughts. Within my limitations, how well I can do something is governed only by my thoughts, so I have to go and do some mind reprogramming so that I can keep going strong. I see this as a very useful gift from the Lord for devotion because I can voluntarily set my attitude towards devotion. It is possible to become as sincere as I can be in chanting, or any other service, etc... by the power of positive suggestions. Positive suggestion to the mind is an asset which not everyone realize.
It requires a lot of positive thinking. Earlier I wrote about faith. But to have faith our thoughts have to be fully positive. It is not easy, I know. There are days when the whole world becomes enemy and screams, "You will never become a devotee. You have betrayed us. You have disappointed us. You have done an unforgivable crime. You have broken our hearts. For this, our anger will not leave you. You will pay for this. Whatever you may become, someday you'll live to regret this....etc...etc..." So many negative thoughts. That is the way maya works. Some people take this as a sign that they have failed in devotion and they lose heart and become negative. Nothing can down a person's faith more than that -- a negative attitude and negative thoughts.
Previously I used to lose heart and drown in an ocean of negativity. But finally one day my spiritual masters pointed it out that material circumstances have no power to attack devotion unless we give them permission to do so. So we must be positive. People have umpteen reasons to find fault in us. We are not perfect. Ok, so what? Since we have resolved to become devotees, we should not fear that. Who has the power to curse in Kali Yuga? None of those souls can really curse. We must take shelter of the Supreme Lord even more during these times. Even if they had powers to curse us, those souls have to get past Lord Nityananda -- no chance. As for us we should just forgive ourselves for our limitations and try to correct them, if possible.
So these bad days, all the yelling, beating, curses and negative atmosphere are simply psychological warfare tactics. We are tested psychologically and the cure is a positive attitude. First understand this -- In devotion, you can never become a failure unless you want to fail. No one can come in your way. It is only you who can kill your own devotion by desiring things like Vaishnava aparadha -- which we all do not want. So our opportunity is never lost. Look up and tell yourself, "I am going to succeed. Their words are just words. They will be utterly disproved. Those who curse me to fail in devotion will see the truth for themselves. They cannot harm my devotion. I will become a devotee even if the whole world brands me as a gone case. All this simply makes me even more determined than ever. I throw the negativism into the garbage bin!" That's being positive! And when one is positive, one's faith increases. Externally it may be hell out there, but within you go closer and closer to the Lord.
Unnecessary fears -- the what ifs -- "What if this...or that...or him/her/they....". "Will it or will it not...." should be treated like taboo because they make us skeptic. Being skeptical even after having experienced everything this far will be a big roadblock for pure faith. Such thoughts should be dismissed with positive counter-attacks. When we keep beating the mind up with positive spiritual thoughts, we can force taste in devotion to come even if it does not come naturally. There is nothing more important in devotion than our attitude towards it. The Lord and the spiritual masters always show their boundless love and mercy, so we only have to watch ourselves.
After all, pure devotion is the goal of our life friends! If it won't come spontaneously, then it has to come by force. And we can do it. We just have to accept it and advance with simple, positive faith!
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krsna All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All glories to Srilla Prabhupada! All glories to Nitaai and Gaura Naam!
Questions: If person do not know glories of Nitaai and Gaura Naam and chant Them in order to get material benefit / wealth- position etc/ will she or he get desired material goal?
For example, one person asked me will this chanting bring wealth to him? He said If yes, he is ready to try chanting. Will result of such chanting be that Lord may fulfill such desires but simultaniously purify person and giive higher spiritual understanding? So, what to answer to persons who may ask simmilar questions about Nitaai and Gaura Naam -will they fullfill their material desires simply by chanting Nitai and Gaura Naam?
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krsna Your servant, Ishana Thakura das

Gauraanga naam I could find. It is my realization that anyone who has any doubt about Nitaai
Gaura Naam should read the Chaitanya Bhagavata -- then all will become clear. Jaya Chaitanya
Bhagavata! Jaya Vrindavana Das Thakura! Jaya Nityananda Gauranga!
Adi Khanda has few direct references. So I included even indirect ones.
Adi Chapter 1
Text 7 Then I offer my respectful obeisances to Shri Krishna Chaitanya, the Supreme
Personality of Godhead. He incarnated the town of Navadvipa, and He is named
"Visvambhara".
Indirect mention:

praise of the Lord.*
Texts 62-63 If we simply try to engage in the congregational chanting of the glories of Lord
Anantadeva, the dirty things in our hearts, accumulated during many births, will immediately be
washed away. Therefore a Vaishnava never loses an opportunity to glorify Anantadeva.* Text 64 Lord Anantadeva is known as Sesha (the unlimited end, because He ends our passage
through this material world. Simply by chanting His glories, everyone can be liberated.*
Text 69 To this very day Lord Ananta continues to chant the glories of Shri Chaitanya

Text 77 Anyone who desires to cross to the farther shore of the ocean of birth and death, and
then dive into the ocean of devotional service, should worship Lord Nityananda Candra. Text 78 Before the feet of the Vaishnavas I place my my heart's desire: May I worship Lord
Balarama birth after birth. Text 79 As "dvija", "vipra", and "brahmana" are different names for the same kind of person,
so the names "Nityananda", "Ananta", and "Baladeva" all refer to the same Supreme Person.
Adi Chapter 2
Text 131 In this way Lord Balarama, who is an ocean of mercy and the giver of devotional
service, descended to this world and assumed the name `Nityananda'.

and I will not be afraid. Now that You are here in my house, why should I be afraid?
Text 344 As "Narasimha" and "Yadusimha" (the lion of the Yadavas, are two names for the
same person, so "Nityananda" and "Balarama" are two names for the same person. This I
know. Text 345 I sing the glories of Lord Nityananda. who is known as "Avadhutacandra" (the moon
of avadhutas), who is Lord Balarama Himself, and who is dear to Lord Chaitanya.
Madhya Chapter 3

when they hear the name of Lord Nityananda, they jump up and run away.
Text 170 They are like persons who worship Lord Krishna but do not honor Lord Siva. These
sinners go to Yamaraja's abode. Text 171 In this incarnation Lord Nityananda is carefully hidden. Only if Lord Chaitanya Himself
reveals Him can anyone see Lord Nityananda. Text 172 Persons who, not understanding the truth, blaspheme Lord Chaitanya or Lord
Nityananda find great obstacles blocking their progress in devotional service to Lord Vishnu.
Madhya Chapter 4

Text 67 He voluntarily serves the Lord in many ways. If He makes one qualified, a person
becomes able to serve the Lord. Text 68 Even Lord Siva, who is very powerful, a great yogi, a great Vaishnava, and the first of

independent, even though He is the creator, maintainer, and destroyer of the material
universes, even though He is all-pervading within the material universes, even though He
continues to exist after all the material universes disappear, and even though the Vedas affirm
that he is limitless and eternal, Lord Ananta Sesha is always delighted to serve Lord Krishna
with great love.

hearted Kesava Bharati said, Text 175 "You make the whole world chant the name `Krishna'. In this way You make the
whole world alive (chaitanya, with kirtana. Text 176 "Therefore Your name will be `Shri Krishna Chaitanya'. Because of You everyone in

Antya Chapter 1

always around Saci-devi. By the Lord's mercy everyone was overcome with ecstati love. They
wept and they rolled on the ground.

Vaishnavas. Text 187 Even the demons melt when they hear Lord Chaitanya's name and virtues. Only the

does not foster Krishna consciousness, the Supreme Personality of Godhead has mercifully
descended to this earth.
Text 154 Anyone who hears Lord Chaitanya's glories crosses beyond the world of birth and
death and goes to Lord Chaitanya's spiritual abode.
Text 386 Anyone who once sings Lord Chaitanya's name or virtues at once crosses the ocean
of repeated birth and death, an ocean that becomes like a calf's-hoofprint mud-puddle. Text 387 Why, then, should be surprising that everyone successfully crossed the Ganga as
they went to directly see Lord Chaitanya?

Texts 70-72 Anyone who is not happy to hear Lord Chaitanya's glories, glories that fill the numberless
universes, glories that crush ignorance into powder, glories that make Lakshmi, Siva, Brahma,

virtues become faults.

beyond human understanding. I have no power to write of it. Text 218 He always chanted japa of the name, "Shri Krishna Chaitanya". Even in His dreams
no other word came from Lord Nityananda's mouth.
Text 220 It is because of Lord Nityananda's mercy that even today the whole world sings of
the Supreme Lord's descent as Shri Chaitanya to this world.
The Sheer potency of Nityananda Gauranga Sankirtana :
Text 329 Accompanied by the devotees, Lord Nityananda sang kirtanas glorifying Lord Shri
Krishna Chaitanya Text 362 Small children, who did not know anything, uprooted big, big trees. Text 363 Loudly roaring, they uprooted trees and threw them about. Shouting, "I am a
cowherd boy!", they ran here and there. Text 364 So great was the power in those small children that even a hundred men could not
catch them and hold them still. Text 365 Chanting, "Shri Krishna Chaitanya Jaya Nityananda!", the children joyfully roared like
lions. Text 366 Overcoime with ecstasy, Lord Nityananda, who was naturally like a child, joined the
children. Text 367 For one month those children had not eaten anything. Therefore, when the people
saw all this, they felt great wonder in their hearts.
Text 436 Some people who call themselves by the name "Chaitanya dasa" (servant of Lord
Chaitanya) never, even in their dreams, chant Lord Chaitanya's glories.
Text 478 "Because You are eternal (nitya, bliss (ananda, personified, You bear the name
`Nityananda'. You are Lord Chaitanya's glories and virtues personified.
Text 592 Whoever worships Lord Nityananda's feet and remembers them breaks all obstacles
into pieces.
Text 623 "Who has the power to throw me into all these calamities? Lord Nityananda is my
only shelter, I have no other shelter."
Text 626 The brahmana prayed, "Save me! Save me! O Nityananda, O cowherd boy Krishna,
O master, O protector of all living entities, please save me! Text 627 "A person who trips and falls to the ground takes shelter of the earth. Text 628 "In the same way a person who commits offenses against You must meditate on
You. On then can he be delivered from his sufferings. Text 629 "You forgive all offenses. You are merciful to the fallen. Text 630 "I have killed many brahmana and many cows. O Lord, no one is a greater offender
than I am. Text 631 "Still, even the greatest sinners may find shelter in You and break into pieces the
bonds that tie them to this world of birth and death. Text 632 "From the moment of birth You protect the lives of the living entities, O Lord, and at
the end of their lives You protect them also. Text 633 "O Lord, please protect me today from these dangers. If I remain alive, I will have
learned my lesson. Text 634 "Birth after birth I am Your servant, O Lord. Whether I live or die, I only wish to be
Your servant."
Text 647 "Save me, Father Nityananda, purifier of the fallen!", the brahmana roared, his arms
raised.
Text 692 He called out, "Lord Nityananda! Master! Purifier of the sinners! Please give the
shelter of Your feet to me, a sinner!
Text 700 In no other incarnation did the Supreme Lord act in this way. Lord Nityananda always
chanted, "Chaitanya!"
Text 704 O my brothers, please worship, please worship Lord Nityananda. By His mercy you
will attain Lord Chaitanya
Antya Chapter 7
Text 12 Accompanied by His associates, overcome with bliss, and always singing of Lord
Chaitanya's names and virtues, Lord Nityananda departed.
Text 16 Streams of tears always flowed form His eyes. "Shri Krishna Chaitanya!", He roared.
Text 37 After some moments Lord Chaitanya folded His hands and prayed to Lord Nityananda, Text 38 "In both name and form You are eternal (nitya, bliss (ananda, personified. You are the
home of the Vaishnavas. You are Lord Ananta Sesha. (2nd time repeated)
Text 58 "You may give Me mercy or punishment. By chanting Your holy name, You deliver
even the trees."
Text 124 Gadadhara had no desire to see the face of anyone who criticized Lord Nityananda. Text 125 Gadadhara Pandita would not look at the face of anyone who did not love Lord
Nityananda. Text 126 After some time becoming peaceful again, the two Lords sat down together and
talked about the auspicious glories of Lord Chaitanya.
Antya Chapter 9 (Gaura Sankirtana -- the crowning glory!)
Text 157 One day, Advaita Acarya, wild with bliss, said to the devotees, Text 158 "Listen, O My brothers. Filling our mouths with His names, today we will sing about Lord
Chaitanya. Text 159 "Today we will not sing about any other avatara. Lord Chaitanya is the essence of all avataras. Text 160 "Taking Us with Him, Lord Chaitanya descended to the earth to deliver everyone in all the
worlds. Text 161 "By His mercy We are honored everywhere. He has given Us the great wealth that is
sankirtana. Text 162 "I will dance. You all sing Lord Chaitanya's glories. Roar like lions. Leave behind all the fear in
your hearts." Text 163 Lord Chaitanya had hidden Himself. All the devotees thought, "Lord Chaitanya will be angry." Text 164 However, no one could disobey Advaita Acarya's command. They all sang Lord Chaitanya's
glories. Text 165 Wild with bliss, lionlike Advaita Acarya danced. In the four directions everyone sang Lord
Chaitanya's glories. Text 166 Hearing the names and glories of Lord Chaitanya, the Lord's most recent avatara in this world,
all the Vaishnavas became wild with bliss. Text 167 Personally singing about Lord Chaitanya, Advaita Acarya danced. In this way He delivered the
worlds. Text 168 He sang: shri-chaitanya narayana karuna-sagor duhkhitera bandhu prabhu mora doya kor
"O Shri Chaitanya, O Narayana, O ocean of mercy, O friend of the distressed, O Lord, please
be merciful to Me!"
Text 169 When this verse came on lionlike Lord Advaita's mouth, the kirtana became very glorious.
"Glory to Chaitanya-Narayana! Glory to Chaitanya-Krishna, who is fond of sankirtana! Glory
to the Lord who loves the devotees and is destructive time personified to the blasphemers!"
Text 172 Lionlike Advaita Acarya wildly danced. All the devotees sang of Lord Chaitanya's names,
virtues, and activities.
A Song in Shri-raga
Text 173 Look at Lord Chaitanya! As He joyfully sings the Supreme Lord's glories, He rolls about on
the ground, and the hairs of His body stand erect. He is Lord Krishna Hismelf. He is the king of
Vaikuntha. Assuming the form of a brahmana, He has descended to this world. Now He enjoys
pastimes of sankirtana.
Text 174 (Refrain, kanaka jiniya kanti shri-bigraha sobhe ati ajanu-lambita-bhuja saja re nyasi-bara-rupa-dhar apana rase bihwal na jani kemana sukhe nace re
His graceful body's splendor defeats gold. His arms reach to His knees. Assuming the form
of a sannyasi, He has become wild by tasting the nectar of love for a person who is actually
Himself. Why does He dance so blissfully? I do not know.
Text 175 jaya shri-gaurasundar karuna-sindhu jaya jaya brindabana-raya jaya jaya samprati jay nabadwipa-purandar carana-kamala deha' chaya
Glory to Lord Chaitanya, who is handsome and fair, and who is an ocean of mercy! Glory,
glory to the king of Vrindavana! Glory, glory, glory to He who is now the king of Navadvipa! O
Lord, please give me the shade of Your lotus feet.
Text 176 All the devotees sang kirtana. Meditating on Lord Chaitanya's feet, Advaita Acarya danced. Text 177 Hearing these new verses about the Lord's most recent avatara, the Vaishnavas joyfully sang
the names of Lord Krishna. Text 178 How wonderful was the bliss in that kirtana! Lord Nityananda alone has the power to describe it
completely. Text 179 Hearing the loud sounds of the kirtana, Lord Chaitanya, the jewel of the sannyasis, came there. Text 180 Seeing Lord Chaitanya, the devotees sang with even more joy, and Advaita Acarya danced
with even more bliss. Text 181 Filled with bliss, no one feared Lord Chaitanya. Everyone openly sang of Lord Chaitanya's
glories. Text 182 In His pastimes Lord Chaitanya was always in the mood of Lord Krishna's servant. He would
say, "I am a servant of Lord Krishna. Please do not call Me anything else." Text 183 No one had the power to face Him and openly call Him "Supreme Personality of Godhead".
They could only call Him "Lord Krishna's servant". Text 184 Still, by Advaita Acarya's power they were now fearlessly singing songs declaring that Lord
Chaitanya was Lord Krishna Himself. Text 185 Lord Chaitanya, the jewel of the sannyasis, stood for a moment and listened to the songs
glorifying Him. Then He became embarrassed and fled. Text 186 To teach everyone, Lord Chaitanya, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the supreme siksha
-guru, went home when He heard others singing a kirtana glorifying Him. Text 187 Even so, fear was not born in any heart. Now they sang the Lord Chaitanya's glories all the
more. Text 188 External consciousness was not present in anyone's body. Everyone saw that Lord Chaitanya
was present in the kirtana glorifying Him. Text 189 Everyone wildly sang Lord Chaitanya's glories. They became almost like madmen. The saintly
devotees heard that kirtana with joy. The wicked were unhappy to hear it. Text 190 Of what value are brahmacarya or sannyasa to a person who is not pleased by Lord
Chaitanya's glories? Text 191 In this way the devotees always joyfully sang sankirtana of Lord Krishna's holy names. Text 192 Anyone who reads or hears of all these blissful pastimes will one day meet all the personal
associates of Lord Chaitanya. Text 193 Singing and dancing, all these great devotees went to see Lord Chaitanya. Text 194 Hearing the kirtana glorifying Him, and then seeing how everyone had come, Lord Chaitanya
became afraid. He lay down to go to sleep. Text 195 Saintly Govinda informed the Lord, "All the Vaishnavas are at Your door." Text 196 Lord Chaitanya ordered Govinda to bring them all inside. Then Lord Chaitanya went to sleep.
No one looked in any other direction. They looked only at Him. Text 197 Afraid, all the devotees meditated on Lord Chaitanya's feet. Text 198 In a moment Lord Chaitanya, who dearly loves His devotees, awakened. He said, "Ah! All the
Vaishnavas! Text 199 "Ah! Ah! Saintly Shrivasa Pandita! Why have You all come here today? Text 200 "Why, abandoning Lord Krishna's holy names, and abanonding kirtana glorifying Lord Krishna,
have you all come and awakened Me?" Text 201 Very eloquent Shrivasa said, "Lord, the individual souls have no power to act independently,
against Your will. Text 202 "As the Supreme Personality of Godhead makes me act and speak, so I act and speak. This I
tell to You." Text 203 Lord Chaitanya said, "You are all panditas. Why do you hide your knowledge?" Text 204 Hearing Lord Chaitanya's words, Shrivasa Pandita moved his hand as if he were trying to cover
the sun. Then he laughed. Text 205 Lord Chaitanya said, "What do you hint by moving your hand like that? Tell Me what your
gesture means." Text 206 Shrivasa said, "With this hand I will cover the sun. Thus I tell You the meaning of this gesture. Text 207 "Do I have the power to cover the sun with one hand? In the same way, You have no power
to hide Yourself. Text 208 "Even if some day I get the power to cover the sun with my hand, You will still have no power
to hide Yourself. Text 209 "On the ocean of milk You could not hide Yourself. How will You hide Yourself in the world of
human beings? Text 210 "Your pure glories will fill every direction, from the Himalayas to Setubandha to the entire earth. Text 211 "The kirtana glorifying You will fill the entire universe, reaching up to Brahmaloka. How many
people will sing in that kirtana? How will You punish them all?" Text 212 The Supreme Personality of Godhead always chants the glories of His devotees. Now a great
wonder had come to the Lord's own door. Text 213 From where did so many thousands and thousands of people come? I do not know. After
seeing Lord Jagannatha, they all went to see Lord Chaitanya. Text 214 Some had come from Tripura, others from Catigrama, orthers from Shrihatta, and others from
East Bengal. Text 215 Thousands and thousands of people sang a kirtana glorifying Lord Chaitanya. Text 216 They sang:
"Glory, glory to Shri Krishna Chaitanya, who is forestflower-garlanded Lord Krishna! Glory,
glory to the Lord who now happily tastes the nectar of devotional service to a person who is
actually Himself!
Text 217 jaya jaya parama-sannyasi-rupa-dhari jaya jaya sankirtana-lampata murari
"Glory, glory to the Lord who has now assumed the form of the supreme sannyasi! Glory,
glory to Lord Krishna, who is now eager to enjoy pastimes of sankirtana!
Text 218-219 jaya jaya dwija-raja baikuntha-bihari jaya jaya sarba-jagatera upakari
jaya krishna-chaitanya shri-sacira nandan
"Glory, glory to the king of brahmanas, who is actually the Supreme Personality of Godhead,
the master who enjoys pastimes in Vaikuntha! Glory, glory to the Lord who blesses all the
worlds! Glory to Saci's son, Shri Krishna Chaitanya!"
In this way everyone sang while a hundred persons danced.
Text 220 Then Shrivasa said, "Lord, what will You do? The whole world is singing. Where will You hide? Text 221 "Lord, what should I teach the whole world? Lord, the whole world is singing like this. Text 222 "Lord, You do not appear before the conditioned souls. They cannot see You. But because You
are merciful You now stand before their eyes. Text 223 "You hide from them, and also You reveal Yourself to them. They who attain Your mercy
understand You." Text 224 Lord Chaitanya said, "By your own power you arranged all this. With your own mouth you told
everyone in the world. This I know. Text 225 "I am defeated by you. Listen, O pandita, I know you have all powers." Text 226 The Supreme Personality of Godhead always praises His devotees. That is His nature. This the
Vedas and the Shrimad-Bhagavatam say. Text 227 With a smiling face Lord Chaitanya bid farewell to all the Vaishnavas. They all returned to their
homes. Text 228 Lord Chaitanya loves His devotees. Because of Him everyone chants, "Krishna!" Text 229 Lord Nityananda, Lord Advaita, and all the other personal associates of the Lord affirm, "Shri
Krishna Chaitanya is the Supreme Personality of Godhead." Text 230 They who disagree with the Supreme Lord's words and say that Lord Chaitanya is not Lord
Krishna are unfortunate.
Text 308-309 Lord Chaitanya has all power and all devotion. His power begins and ends everything. He
knows everything. A person who knows this sincerely worships Lord Chaitanya.
And Finally, for the grand finale...
Antya Khanda Chapter 10 (last verse)
Text 182 The two moons Shri Krishna Chaitanya and Shri Nityananda are my life and soul. I, Vrindavana
dasa, sing the glories of Their feet.
Thus ends Shri Chaitanya Bhagavata
In conclusion, this is Sri Chaitanya Bhagavata's opinion on chanting the names of Nityananda
and Gauranga as written in the Chapter Summary by Sri Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada himself :
Antya Khanda Chapter 9 Summary :
"...One day when under the order of Śri Advaita Ācārya all the devo tees began to glorify
the names, qualities, and pastimes of the incar nation of Lord Caitanya, the Ācārya began to
dance and roar loudly. The Ācārya began to dance with the devotees while chanting a song He
personally composed about Lord Caitanya. When Mahāprabhu heard the sound of klrtana and
came there, the devotees under the leadership of Advaita Ācārya began to glorify Lord
Caitanya's names, forms, qualities, and pastimes even more enthusiastically. To protect the
mission of His covered incarnation, Mahāprabhu, who is the teacher of all living entities and
who accepted the mood of a devotee, left that place and returned to His residence to enact
the pastime of going to bed in an angry mood. The devotees headed by Śrīvāsa went to the
Lord's residence, and Mahāprabhu indicated that His identity in His covered incarnation was to
remain concealed. In response, Śrīvāsa made a gesture of trying to cover the sun with his two
hands to show that by covering a self-manifested object it could never re main hidden. In fact,
even if it were possible to cover the sun with one's hands, it was not possible for Lord Caitanya
to remain hidden, for His glories were spread throughout the entire world. At that time,
innumerable devotees from various provinces suddenly arrived there glorifying the names,
forms, qualities, and pastimes of the incarna tion of Śri Caitanya and thereby substantiated the
words of Śrivāsa. As a result, Mahāprabhu enhanced the glories of His devotee by ac cepting
defeat. The science of Śrī Krsna Caitanya's position as the origin of all incarnations is accepted through
disciplic succession. When He is accepted by personalities like Śrī Advaita and Śrī Nityānanda as
the source of all incarnations, and when He exhibits the special charac teristics found only in
Lord Krsna, then to not accept Him as the Supreme Personality of Godhead but to consider
Him as something else is nothing but atheism..."
Therefore in the end the opinion of Sri Chaitanya Bhagavata, which is the last word as far
as Nityananda Gauranga are concerned, and all the scriptures is that anyone who objects to
the chanting of the names of Nityananda Gauranga is bewildered by maya and ignorant of the
real truth of Nitai-Gaura, the most merciful Lordships and the original cause of all other
expansions.
Those who chant the names of Nityananda Gauranga fully know their powers and have no
doubts. But those who have not chanted and simply try to approach with theoretical
knowledge alone are always vulnerable to doubts. Sugar is sweet is a fact that can be realized
only by placing a sugar cube in one's mouth and not otherwise.
Therefore if anyone has any type of doubt regarding Nityananda Gauranga naam, then our
answer is that they must first read Chaitanya Bhagavata and Navadvipa Dham Mahatmya
before coming to any wrong conclusions on this matter. All doubts about Nityananda
Gauranga naam arise only because one has not carefully studied and understood the teachings
of the scriptures. We therefore request all devotees not to have any further doubts and simply
welcome the Lordships Nityananda Gauranga into your heart with love along with Hare Krishna
and see the truth for yourself. With this very long series of articles, we end this presentation
and await the day when Bhaktivinode's prediction of the day when the whole world with all
philosophical paths and faiths will ultimately find its way to the sankirtana of Lord Sri Krishna
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Jaya Bhaktivinode!
Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! My humble pranams to you all!
On reading and hearing Chaitanya Bhagavata for the first time, I immediately felt that lots of
truths of Nityananda Gauranga and their holy names must be here as it is the original
Bhagavata of Gaura lila itself. Feeling inspired by the Lord and his devotees, I began this work
and what I have seen is miracle after miracle.
In coming up with this list, I have gone through each and every verse in the Chaitanya
Bhagavata to compile this list and submit it for your service and for the service of Vaishnavas
worldwide. I am unable to fully express my feelings at the end of such an undertaking. Gold
mine after gold mine kept coming and the Chaitanya Bhagavata has broken all record and
surpassed every other literature in direct references to Nitaai Gaura naama. It was a very
ecstatic research and even eating and sleeping became secondary while doing it. I only now
realise a little bit of the glories of Chaitanya Bhagavata and the glories of Vaishnava Vani seva.
Nothing can compare to Chaitanya Bhagavata.
Even if all books of knowledge in the world are destroyed by time, if only the Chaitanya
Bhagavata remains, it will still be more than enough for the job. I do not minimize the glories of
any other scripture by specially glorifying Vrindavana Dasa Thakur's book. Therefore I humbly
request you not to take my juvenile words offensively.
Directly or Indirectly, Nityananda Gauranga are there in every verse of the Chaitanya
Bhagavata. Therefore I have just tried to find out the ones which express it most prominently.
Where I could not find direct references, I included indirect ones as far as possible where the
meaning is implied.
I sincerely submit my prayer to Guru, the Vaishnavas and the Lord that these verses be
revealed to all those who want to know about the true glories of the mantrarajas. I pray that
even those who are antagonistic to the continuously chanting of Nitaai Gaura naam along with
Hare Krishna maha-mantra also receive the mercy of Sri Chaitanya Bhagavata and realise the
glories of Gaura Nitaai. This service is especially meant for these people.
By no means is this research perfect or complete. I am a fool full of errors and in my hurry
I would have overlooked many things. Some verses I put up may be far too indirect. I may
have put up such long lists that it may have been cubersome and time consuming to go
through them. The verses are also not in order as they were found at different times and
places.
We can make our own book of Nitaai Gaura naam in all the Gaudiya Vaishnava scriptures.
Chaitanya Bhagavata's single contribution alone has been greater than everything else put
together.
Yet despite all this my humble prayer is that I never get egoistic but always remain humble
and always remain honest. These two qualities are most important for devotion and they can
be obtained only by serving you devotees. So I pray that you will overlook all my limitations
and always engage me in some service or the other. I pray that I remain devoted to the
parampara and to the chanting of Nityananda! Gauranga! and Hare Krishna Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna Hare Hare / Hare Raama Hare Raama Raama Raama Hare Hare and to Sri
Gurudeva and all Vaishnavas.
Please feel free to express your opinions and replies for improving this or if you have found
any more verses outside this list.
With this I entrust this compilation to you. Please accept this humble offering.
I offer my respectful obeisances unto the six Gosvamis, namely Sri Rupa Gosvami, Sri Sanatana Gosvami, Sri Raghunatha Bhatta Gosvami, Sri Raghunatha Dasa Gosvami, Sri Jiva Gosvami, and Sri Gopala Bhatta Gosvami, who are always engaged in chanting the holy name of Krsna and dancing. They are just like the ocean of love of God, and they are popular both with the gentle and with the ruffians, because they are not envious of anyone. Whatever they do, they are all-pleasing to everyone, and they are fully blessed by Lord Caitanya. Thus they are engaged in missionary activities meant to deliver all the conditioned souls in the material universe.
I offer my respectful obeisances unto the six Gosvamis namely Sri Rupa Gosvami, Sri Sanatana Gosvami, Sri Raghunatha Bhatta Gosvami, Sri Raghunatha Dasa Gosvami, Sri Jiva Gosvami, and Sri Gopala Bhatta Gosvami, who are very expert in scrutinizengly studying all the revealed scriptures with the aim of establishing eternal religious principles for the benefit of all human beings. Thus they are honored all over the three worlds and they are worth taking shelter of because they are absorbed in the mood of the gopis and are engaged in the transcendental loving service of Radha and Krsna.
I offer my respectful obeisances unto the six Gosvamis, namely Sri Rupa Gosvami, Sri Sanatana Gosvami, Sri Raghunatha Bhatta Gosvami, Sri Raghunatha dasa Gosvami, Sri Jiva Gosvami, and Sri Gopala Bhatta Gosvami who are very much enriched in understanding of Lord Caitanya and who are thus expert in narrating His transcendental qualities. They can purify all conditioned souls from the reactions of their sinful activities by pouring upon them transcendental songs about Govinda. As such they are very expert in increasing the limits of the ocean of transcendental bliss, and they are the saviors of the living entities from the devouring mouth of liberation.
I offer my respectful obeisances unto the six Gosvamis namely Sri Rupa Gosvami, Sri Sanatana Gosvami, Sri Raghunatha Bhatta Gosvami, Sri Raghunatha Dasa Gosvami, Sri Jiva Gosvami, and Sri Gopala Bhatta Gosvami, who kicked off all association or aristocracy as insignificant. In order to deliver the poor conditioned souls, they accepted loincloths, treating the
108 Verses Of Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama Mahima Mahaastotra Composed in Hindi by His Holiness Bhaktiratna Sadhu Swami Gaurangapada directly from the original Bengali verses of our Acharyas.
The full translation in english is not available yet. Long time ago, I was eager to dive into these verses also, which are non-different to Swami Gaurangapada's heart. Maybe you feel the same? Wishing to know that heart. cya.
Dear Bruce, you said "What is more, I was told that because such named actions I was informed that I had committed an offense to the holy name, and that I probably have lost my taste for the Maha mantra.
I still chant my rounds."
.... the important thing to remember Bruce is that the Holy Name of Gauranga and the Holy Name of Krishna are non-different.
In the neopyhte stage of spiritual life there is often inner conflict at various levels, and 'a great need to harmonize' and find 'peace'. Whoever advised you in the above statement must surely still be in that stage of 'conflictive consciousness and lack of harmony', or, if they are elevated they are' being compassionate and trying to deter you frompossible inner conflict'. Inner conflict is a great pitfall in spiritual life and never leads to peace. That is what I perceive from my own encounters and journey anyhow...and from reading your words.
A Gaudiya devotee may feel more attraction to Gaura lila or to Krsna lila, or maybe equal attraction to both. You have dreamed of a 'golden female'... I am presuming from this your soul and spirit is attracted to 'Gaura' and to the sweetness of 'Sri Radha'. I am perceiving that you are sensitive in heart. What better qualification to receive Srimate Radharani's Lotus Feet and blessing??? A heart free of guile is a simple heart...
I consider Sri Gauranga a dear friend, and when I lose sight of him a great sadness enters my heart! Let love lead your heart, intuit it, and feel that love. Others can give suggestions, but only you will know your soul in relation to God. Allow others that space of self discovery also...and try to harmonize all things (within).
Since this Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama Mahima Mahaastotra is so highly recommended to read every day, I was looking for it on the Nitaai Veda and I saw that in the English translation there are several sections that are missing.
Is there someplace else where the complete translation is available?
Nityaananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Dear Bruce! Everything what should be told is told by other devotees. What i can add is only that i will pray for your happiness and that this difficult situation will not discourage you in chanting Nityananda and Gauranga Mantras. What people are searching by reading, going for darshans, chanting mantras, prayers, involving ourselves in esoteric studies - all this is made for only on reason - to attain eternal happiness. And when you found the way to achieve this happiness, suddenly someone says that it is not the right way. In the same time that kinds of statements are absolutely in confrontation with what you feel ... Then... well I would say - never give up this happiness. Because its yours. And you are the one, who will benefit from your own activities and from your practice .It may sound very selfish, I know, but please, don't give up chanting Nityananda Gauranga Names.
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! For the main course, you can see the Chaitanya Bhagavata verses and purports by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati on the forum. You may find it here.
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! Please accept my pranams!
This is a reply written by Hadai Nityananda Dasa, a remarkable devotee on this sangha to an earlier introductory post. I will requote it here
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna!
Dear Guruji, Bhakta Mihir and devotees, please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga.
Thank you for your desire to know me and in return I can say that I am always here to serve you to the best of your spiritual interest.
I have chanted the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra for almost 25 years with a flickering mind, sometimes enthusiastically engaged sometimes indifferently detached. Because of my countless offenses of so many lifetimes it seemed that I didn’t make any progress at all. I knew that it would be better to be initiated by a bonafide guru in the Gaudya Vaisnava tradition but every time when I thought I had ‘found’ my guru, he fell down soon thereafter. That was often quite frustrating (but also very eye-opening to be careful) and I kept praying to Lord Sri Krishna if He would be so kind to allow me to find ‘my guru’. Afterwards everything became completely clear. In 2004 when Swami Gaurangapada came into my life I instantly knew that he was my eternal guru. I embraced the Mantrarajas ‘Nityananda’ and ‘Gauranga’ right away and my whole spiritual life made suddenly sense to the core of my being. I remember chanting the first round ‘Nityananda’ and every syllable increased my happiness so intensely that at the end of that round I was spontaneously dancing with tears in my eyes. When I chanted my first round ‘Gauranga’ I nearly could stand the indescribable intense spiritual feelings I had and it was as if all the Vedas and Puranas opened their hearts to this insignificant soul. After the Mantrarajas I experienced the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra completely different than ever before. I found myself halfway on a hill on the border of a deep forest and a cloud of dust ascended from the hooves of thousands of Surabhi cows in the valley. When I looked up I saw the brightly radiating feet of Lord Sri Krishna and a little bit of His yellow dhoti, I didn’t dare to look up at that moment but I was well aware that He was playing His divine flute and behind the bushes and trees were the gopas and gopis hiding, trying to stay unnoticed and to get a glimpse of the whole scenery. It is obvious that I try here to describe the indescribable in my attempt to give you an idea of what happened to me when I came in contact with Guruji and the Mantrarajas.
I waited a year and received official initiation in 2005 from my eternal guru Swami Gaurangapada and later I received also second initiation from him. Before I met guruji I had a hard time finishing my rounds of the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. After I met guruji it became a feast to chant and I can’t wait for the early morning hours to chant my rounds. Over time I have slowly increased the quantity of my chanting, little baby steps at the time and very gradually. Over the last year I am blessed to chant 64 rounds of Nityananda, and 64 rounds of Gauranga, and 32 rounds of Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. I didn’t increase the number of chanting my rounds on beads after reaching this stage just to be practical with my daily (material) time. However, I can tell you when you start your day chanting with all your attention on the holy Names you keep on chanting internally during all of your daily activities. In my case I have become obsessed with Lord Nityananda and Lord Gauranga and with Sri Sri Radha Krishna in the most positive sense of the word. They are always on my mind and everything I do is hand in hand with Them. I cannot imagine my life without Them. They are everything I am and what I want to be. Without Them my life would be wasted and I have put myself into a dangerous situation: I am totally dependent on Their mercy, dependent on the mercy of the guru parampara, dependent on the mercy of Guruji, dependent on the mercy of the servants of the servants of the Vaisnavas, and dependent on the mercy of devotees like yourself. I am dependent on the mercy of the smallest ants who have heard the holy Name ‘Nityananda’ because they are great devotees of Lord Gauranga Krishna. I am so incredibly dependent that my only prayer is to remain forever engaged in the service of the devotees of Lord Gauranga Krishna. I pray never to be liberated from this dependency because it is exactly this relationship with Lord Nityananda, Lord Gauranga and Sri Sri Radha Krishna and Their pure devotees that are the source of all my indescribable happiness.
I hope that this helps to get to know me a little. I also see that you visited my site www.be-pure.info and signed up for the weekly newsletter. Thank you for your sincere interest. Blessings upon you!

108 Verses Of Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama Mahima Mahaastotra
Dear Bruce I will humbly try to post some scriptural referencess. Gurudeva explained everything, just want to share some references
1. "I became steady in my spiritual practices. I became so attached to these holy names now."
gaura-nama na laiya, yei krsna bhaje giya; sei krsna bahu kale paya. gaura-nama laya jei, sadya krsna paya sei; aparadha nahi rahe taya.
"If someone endeavours to worship Krsna without regularly chanting the name of Lord Gauranga, then he or she will achieve Krsna only after a very prolonged period of time. But if someone takes shelter of the names of Lord Gauranga, he or she will achieve Krsna very soon because his offenses will cease to exist." Shri Navadvipa-dhama-mahatmya, Chp 7
Naam and Lord are non-different. You are saying that you are attached to Holy Names and that is confirmed here "if someone takes shelter of the names of Lord Gauranga, he or she will achieve Krsna very soon because his offenses will cease to exist ".
2."I was told that I was not intellect because I'm trying to concoct some nonsense."
Nakula Brahmacari told Sivananda Sena, "You are chanting the Gaura-gopala mantra, composed of four syllables (which is your ista-mantra i.e. worshippable mantra). Now please give up the doubts that have resided within you."
Purport by Shrila Prabhupada:
Shrila Bhaktivinoda Thakura explains the Gaura-gopala mantra in his Amrta-pravaha-bhasya. Worshipers of Shri Gaurasundara accept the four syllables 'gau-ra-an-ga' as the Gaura mantra, but pure worshipers of Radha and Krishna accept the four syllables ra-dha krs-na as the Gaura-gopala mantra. However, Vaishnavas consider Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu nondifferent from Radha-Krishna (shri-krishna-chaitanya radha-krishna nahe anya). Therefore one who chants the mantra "gauranga" and one who chants the names of Radha and Krishna are on the same level." End of Purport
Quote two:
"In Shri Chaitanya-mangala Sutra-khanda Verse 527 by Shrila Locana Dasa Thakura, the four-syllable Gauranga-mantra is described as the mantra through which Lord Gauranga is worshipped in Goloka Vrndavana, the topmost Vaikuntha planet in the spiritual world:
hema-gaura kalevara, mantra cari-aksara; sahaja vaikuntha-natha syama.
"The Lord sits on a golden bejewelled throne. He posseses a complexion millions of times more brilliant than the colour of molten gold. He is worshipped by all His devotees with the four-syllable mantra, 'Gauranga'."
End of purport
So, did Sivananda-Sena, Shrila Locana Dasa Thakura, Shrila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, Srila Prabhupad and numerous other acharyas (you can find unlimited support in sastras in Nitaai Veda) also "concoct some nonsense"?
There is also beautiful book "Sri Guru and His Grace". When I was in position similar to your present situation that book helps me a lot to understand dynamic of Guru tattva.
What wonderful realizations you have received and such mercy of Srimati Radharani!
I just want to echo what others have said. Don't let anyone discourage you from chanting Nitayananda! and Gauranga! as well as the mahamantra! We are Gaudiya Vaishnavas after all and we are all followers of Nitaai Gaura.
I am not as knowledgeable as others here, nor am I a good practitioner, but I know that Srila Prabhupada did say that chanting Nitayananda and Gauranga is on the same platform as the mahamantra and that I am a fallen soul and Nitaai and Gaura are most merciful to people like me. I am in need of purification and so I trust that Nityananda and Gauranga are especially merciful to people like me. I trust that we need to connect with Nitaai and Gaura, and chanting these mantrarajas is the best way to get connected with them.
Anyway, thanks so much for sharing your story! It has been very beneficial for all of us!
I am in LA and would be happy to talk with you sometime. Are you on Facebook? If so you can find me at www.facebook.com/neilrrasmussen Send me a friend request, if you want. (and the same thing to all other friends here as well!)
Dear Bruce, thank you so much for sharing your realizations about chanting Nityananda, Gauranga and Hare Krsna with us.
I want to share my realizations from time when I met Swami for first time and when I started to chant Nityananda and Gauranga because they are very simmilar to your situation..
I was always struggling to chant my rounds, and somehow or other I found this site and was struck with siddhantha, teachings, behavior, of Swami Gaurangapada. At that time I started to chant Nityananda and Gauranga along with Hare Krsna and had similar realizations as you described . Suddenly I was severely criticized, simply because I am chanting Nityananda and Gauranga and that helps me to chant Hare Krsna! If that helps me why not to chant!
But chanting of Nityananda and Gauranga, it was not possible to abandon, because with Lord's mercy I relished drop of it's sweetness by chanting. So I was in very difficult situation and acted more on less on sentimental level. Swami Gaurangapada told me at that time that I should look from philosophical perspective, not sentimental and that is right way to do.
I must say to you dear Bruce, that this may look as tough time, revising of your values etc. but all that is part of Lords Divine Plan. Spiritual journey is not flat road, it is going on amassing paths.
I just want to say that from present point of view I can clearly see that this was perfect arrangement of Supreme Lord and that I then found my eternal spiritual master - Swami Gaurangapada. You are very fortunate, Srimati Srimati Radhika, Queen of Vrindavana and Ruler of Shyama's hearth, appeared to help you. Therefore I may understand that you are blessed by Her and she brought you to Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama.
Please, do not hesitate to write, read, associate, ask questions etc. to all members of this portal. We are here to help each others, to share realizations, to speak about Krsna and to give Krsna to others,.
I am very happy that you are here, and that you acted as you described. Your attitude of chanting Gaura-Naam, and actually attempt to preach about glories of Naam, presenting sastric evidences about Gaura Naam, pleased Srimati Radhika, who is Supreme Goal of meditation for babajis of Vraj, to appear in your dream and give you blessings.
Please take this situation as great bless and please dive into teachings of Nityananda Gauranga Naama deeply and fully. That will help you to destroy any hesitation and doubts that may remain. You are very fortunate soul, and very sincere soul because you accepted this chanting of Nityananda and Gauranga inspite many difficulties.
Please accept my humble obeisancess and welcome dear Brus,
Yours in service of Swami Gaurangapada, Ishana Thakura das
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! Please accept my humble pranams!
You are a fortunate soul to have taken up the process of Nityananda Gauranga naam along with the maha mantra and having experienced the truth for yourself, you know within you that you should not give it up.
I tried to chant the Hare Krishna mantra for 5 years but unfortunately I had no taste and I was chanting off and on, only on occasions, and only committing aparadha all the time, so whatever taste I had also was being lost. Then I met the devotees here and took their words atleast somewhat seriously because when it is mentioned in the scriptures, it is the highest evidence. The moment I chanted the first name Nityananda I knew, like the sound of a bomb that this was exactly what I needed. It took only one minute for me to realise that this is truly something amazing.
I have experienced a spiritual miracle in my life after these most merciful and loving Nityananda Gauranga came into my life by the causeless mercy of my devotees. I have also had some not very pleasant experiences in trying to get people to chant it. Most of them simply thought I had lost my rocker, while some other devotees raised all the protests that you yourself would have personally experienced. Some people even withdrew their association from me and although they are friendly as ever, still they keep their distance.
However for me it is now clear as I know that the sun is luminous, and I do not have to rely on anybody else's different opinions which I know are not correct. When one can feel the heat of the fire, how can we give room for someone else who thinks that fire is cold?
Previously I saw the mercy of the mantrarajas and I was very eager to let others get this mercy as well. But in time I learned my lesson -- first I should be convinced and I should make my practice perfect. Unless people are actually convinced that you are a great devotee, they will not listen to you and whatever you say they will not accept. Painfully it is true. So having received a huge head start, first I need to perfect myself. And when your associates see for themselves that there is genuine truth in it, then in the future they themselves may take it up. Some people have to see it to believe it. And if we have to preach, we should make ourselves perfect.
We need to be strong because mayadevi will not easily allow us such an outrageously easy chance to attain the Lord as the Nityananda Gauranga mantrarajas. But if you chant them, you will see how much your taste in the maha mantra will increase. There is really no point arguing when the other party has chosen not to listen to us -- we cannot force others. We may also feel doubtful later.
So I have some humble requests. First please go through the Nitaai Gauranga naam section in the forum as so much new spiritual nectar is available. And second, please listen to your heart and conscience, take to Nityananda Gauranga naam and see for yourself. Do not reveal these practices to everyone without being fully sure that they will accept it or not. Before drinking hot water we must make sure the temperature is safe. Please do you chanting in such a way that your objectors will not know and so any offenses to Nityananda Gauranga naam are avoided as Swamiji himself put it.
You are such a fortunate soul that Srimati Radharani has directly given mercy to you so it is a Divine order from the Lord and it must be respected. On top of everything you have experienced it for yourself. I am only a low sinner. I fall at the feet of a soul like yourself who received such mercy and so I certainly need your association and mercy that I also should develop some taste for the Holy names.
Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! All glories to the Guru Parampara! All glories to our beloved BR Sadhu Swami Gaurangapada! All glories to the Vaishnava devotees!
I have been thinking that I would like to add a short prayer to the Six Goswamis and a prayer to Haridas Thakur to my devotions.
Are there any short prayers that would be suggested?
Dear Bruce, Nityananda!! Gauranga!! Hare Krishna!! Jaya Shri Guru Parampara! Pranaams and blessings.
I welcome you here to our site and am so happy that you have kindly shared with us your nice realizations about Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama.
However, I started to make amazing result. I became steady in my spiritual practices. I became so attached to these holy names now.
You are directly experiencing the benefits of Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama mentioned in the Scriptures and by our Acharyas. gaura naama jei labe, taate krishna kripaa habe ... so you should cherish them.
So, I decided to share this spiritual realization with my spiritual master Babaji and to the general community at large, and I have been placed on corrective actions.
Your intentions were good and you wanted to share your spirtual realizations about Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama for everyone's benefit but it was not the fully correct thing to do since others were not able to appreciate it and ended up committing offenses against Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama. You should have tested the waters before and gauged what the response was going to be before telling them everything. It is said in the scriptures, that one should refrain from explaining those glories of the Holy Names from the scriptures which others may not accept and react to in an antagonistic way in order to avoid offenses against the most merciful Naama Prabhu of Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama. I know it is quite sad and unfortunate to keep such a great mercy within ourselves after knowing about and directly experiencing the benefits of such a great secret from the Vedic scriptures but we have to do that as an austerity in order to minimize the belittling of the sublime process of chanting Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama along with the Hare Krishna Mahaamantra and save those souls from committing this grievious offense.
I was told that I was not intellect because I'm trying to concoct some nonsense.
Shrila Prabhupada said the following not in his conversations but in the most important book (Cc) he wrote, "Therefore one who chants the mantra "gauranga" and one who chants the names of Radha and Krishna are on the same level." And many previous Acharyas said the same thing. So how are you concocting? This statement has absolutely no foundation. It shows lack of scriptural knowledge about the authenticity and the merciful nature of Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama Tattva.
I was told that this is a form of impresonalism, and that I was chopping a branch for devotion service by such foolish methods.
That is totally incorrect. Chanting Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama along with the Hare Krishna Mahaamantra roots out impersonalism from our heart totally. In fact, Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama are the very terminators of impersonalism. The two main branches of Bhakti are Krishna and Gaura. Differenciating between Them, accepting the chanting of the Holy Name of One and rejecting the chanting of the Holy Name of the Other, is just chopping One off. So it is s not you who is doing the chopping but those who say so may be doing it. Chanting Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama along with the Hare Krishna Mahaamantra is not a foolish method, but an authorized and bonafide method of Bhajana described in the scriptures. And the practical proof is your own realizations in the chanting of Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama.
What is more, I was told that because such named actions I was informed that I had committed an offense to the holy name, and that I probably have lost my taste for the Maha mantra.
Again, it is the directly the opposite of this. Chanting Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama is the fastest and easiest process to remove all the stringent ten offenses in the chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahaamantra and granting us unending taste for the Hari Naama.
I had tried to submit scripture, but he would have none of it. He told me that I was trying to find a quick and easy way to Krsna, and simply put: there are none.
Hearing the verses from the scriptures about the glories of the Holy Names should be the greatest pleasure for all Gurus, Sadhus and Vaishnavas and one should be most happy to hear such authentic glories. In the words of Lord Shiva and Shrila Narada Muni in the Navadvipa Dhaama Mahatmya, there is an easy way. gauranga bhajana sarala ati, sahaja tahara phala vitati. In this verse both "sarala" and "sahaja" words means Gauraanga Naama is certainly the easy way.
A golden woman placed her foot on the top of my head, and the next day all this has happened.
Shrimati Radharani gave you a glimpse and Her mercy so that you could pass the difficult test which was to happen. The Gauraanga Mantra is very dear to Shrimati Radha and She wanted you to continue chanting Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama along with the Hare Krishna Mahaamantra. Thus, She appeared to you in a dream to give you strength and prepare you for the next day.
I'm attached to Nityananda, Gauranga mantra. I don't think I can give it up. I have tried, but I feel so sad and empty away from them. Have I lost the taste for the holy name?
Please, listen to your heart and never give Them up. They are your key to chanting the pure Name. Gaining taste in Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama means you will receive much more increased taste for the Hare Krishna Mahaamantra very soon. So you are not loosing but gaining. We are always here to serve and assist you in your Bhajana.
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
I have been perusing your site for about 6 months now, and I guess because of my circumstances I have been pushed to introduce myself to the NITAII community at large. My name is Bruce, and I live in USA. I'm not new to the esoteric teachings of the Vedic literature, but I'm still a neophyte.
About three months ago, I started to chanted Nityananda and Gauranga mantras, but I never did share this with anyone. I did my own self experience with the holy names because I was skeptical about it's validity, to be quite honest.
However, I started to make amazing result. I became steady in my spiritual practices. I became so attached to these holy names now.
So, I decided to share this spiritual realization with my spiritual master Babaji and to the general community at large, and I have been placed on corrective actions.
I was told that I was not intellect because I'm trying to concoct some nonsense. I was told that this is a form of impresonalism, and that I was chopping a branch for devotion service by such foolish methods. What is more, I was told that because such named actions I was informed that I had committed an offense to the holy name, and that I probably have lost my taste for the Maha mantra.
I still chant my rounds.
I had tried to submit scripture, but he would have none of it. He told me that I was trying to find a quick and easy way to Krsna, and simply put: there are none.
However, the oddity of this situation occurred with a dream I had on the night before. A golden woman placed her foot on the top of my head, and the next day all this has happened. I'm attached to Nityananda, Gauranga mantra. I don't think I can give it up. I have tried, but I feel so sad and empty away from them.
Have I lost the taste for the holy name?
Can anyone explain this dream?
What is a person to do when one's heart is leading you in a different direction for your guru?
I'm sorry to lay my trouble at your door steps, but I have no one else to talk too. Sadly, I can not asks any more question concerning this matter with my spiritual master.
Materialistic persons are crazy for increasing their level of sensual enjoyment. That is known as kama - lust, material desire. They are investing so much energy, evan whole life to fulfill material desires. And what is the result of their endeavors - avidya-kama-karmabhih - result is situation of suffering.
But, we should also learn something from them. With same eagerness, just as they are trying to satisfy their senses, with such intensity and desire we should try to increase quality and quantity of our chanting Nityananda Gauranga and Hare Krsna.
Materialists are enjoying in material objects and we are enjoying by helping guru who is in service of Lord Krsna's enjoyment. If we can somehow or other help guru to make Krsna happy, we will automatically attain all perfection.
"It is only through the grace of the spiritual master that we cross over this material existence and only via his grace we can obtain Supreme Lord Gauranga Krsna."
Materialists are trying by their own strength and endevors to conquer this material world, but result is only pain.
On the other way, devotee simply surrenders unto qualified spiritual master, chant Nityananda, Gauranga and Hare Krsna with enthusiasm and automatically cross over this uncrossable ocean of suffering. That is real and permanent success.
